Heritage Open Day at Shoreham Fort TODAY (14-Sept-2014), from 11am until 5pm:

Our extensive Gun Rack collection will be on display with examples from the 1700’s Brown Bess to the current SA80.

Firing demonstration from the Royal Sussex Living History group will take part throughout the day.

Learn the history of our newly acquired WWII Nissen Hut. Hear about our plans to create a WWI Memorial Training Trench.

Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the Shoreham Beach Local Nature Reserve.

There will be a children’s History Hunt around the site.

Children will be invited to earn their keep (a chocolate farthing) whilst taking part in the Parade Ground Drills.

Tours will be at 1pm and 3pm.

Airsoft shooting range all day.

Our tea hut will be open to provide hot & cold drinks and cakes.

This is a FREE event, and all donations will go towards the education about and restoration of the fort.
