Wow!! What a phenomenal day…
Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this year’s Heritage Open Days a great success.
The tours were HUGE, the cakes, cookies, cheese straws and sausage rolls were demolished and the tea and coffee went down a storm
GAPP were brilliant and really created a wonderful atmosphere whilst they were playing.
The Nissen hut was busy all day with people watching Silver Screen and listening to Phil Simons talk.
Steve was exceptionally busy talking about the gun rack and Howard and Ian were incredibly busy talking to people with regards to their respective exhibitions on Bungalow Town and the Houseboats.
The trustees would like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this weekend possible, all the cake makers and bakers, the Airsoft Chaps, GAPP, Ian & Julie Merriwood, Howard & Sarah Porter, Phil Simons and last but no means least, Trevor Povey, for stepping in to help on the last tour and enlightening our guests on the reason the fort was built and what it was protecting – fascinating stuff
