Preparations are now well under way for our 5th Annual Military History Weekend and we are looking forward to welcoming all our visiting groups back to Shoreham Fort to help us bring her back to life.

We will have re-enactors and living history groups from every period of the fort’s historic timeline, being 1857 through to 1945 and on Sunday 8th the Fort Cumberland Guard will be back with their cannon.

This family friendly and fun event is an absolute must. We not only have our military parade ground demonstrations, we have the Cadet Kit Car teams joining us to see how quickly they can take apart and reassemble their jeeps. The children’s parade ground drills give the little (and not so little) ones a chance to learn to be a Victorian Soldier as they earn payment from the Queen (a chocolate coin). There will be a vast array of military vehicles from WWII up to current day, with Ricardo joining us again.

Refreshments, cake and food will be available on site and with our new seating area next to Food for Fort it will enable you to have a cuppa in comfort.

Entry is free of charge but the Friends of Shoreham Fort would really appreciate a donation upon arrival or exit, to help us cover our costs.

With two marquees on site to offer cover from the gloriously hot weather we have on order, we really look forward to seeing you all there and hope that we do you all proud.
