15 days to go! – Tuesday, 1st November '16

15 days now remain on our fundraiser to produce a guidebook! Thank you to those who have already pledged your support. Remember, this fundraiser will only be successful if we reach the goal of £3,000. We are currently at £1,123, so please share, share, share and help spread the word to anyone who can pledge support.

We're hoping that this can be used to fund a design and initial print run of a souvenir guidebook all about the Fort. Including a brief tour, history about the fort, the film studio, the Forts role in both wars, and more, we really hope that this will be a guidebook that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Please support our kickstarter campaign and support your Fort.

Volunteer day – Sunday, 6th November '16

We've got another volunteer day coming soon - Sunday 6th November. Anyone is welcome to join in and help out, and there are always plenty of jobs to be done - or why not just come down for a cuppa and a chat?

Since we're in Winter time now, the tour will be at 2pm.

Remembrance Evening – Sunday, 13th November '16

A quick reminder that our Remembrance Evening will be taking place on Sunday 13th November. Come along and light a tea light for someone who is in your thoughts.

The evening will start at 17.00 and Food-for-fort will be open with hot drinks. Remember to wrap up warm!

We are getting to the end of the useful life of our trowels, hand garden forks and equipment that we use for carefully weeding around the Scheduled Monument. Any small hand tools would be gratefully received.

  • Renewal of IT/presentation equipment

With a partial award for an application to Sussex Community Foundation we have been able to increase our outreach and education programme; therefore increasing word of mouth of our project and engaging the wider community in a positive and proactive manner.

A big THANK-YOU to Sussex Community Foundation for their donation!

  • Volunteers

People are genuinely surprised when we tell them how few volunteers we have that come on site on a regular basis to help maintain and conserve the site for the enjoyment of the public. If you think you would like to get involved with this amazing project then please do get in touch or come down on one of our volunteer days. It may look like it\'s all hard, manual work but there really is a job for all.

If you're able to help, or have contact with someone who can, then please let us know
