Remembrance Service Success
Andy posted in Events on November 12, 2012 at 12:46 pm
On the 11th November, we held a very emotional remembrance service, which was greatly received. Thank you to James Watts who gave us search lights during our two minutes silence, turned the fort into a rainbow of colours and supplied the PA. A big thank you to the band 168 No Sleep who did a great job, Derek who did the service, Liz Coward for her reading, the Royal Sussex Living History Group and all the Friends of Shoreham Fort for making it possible. What a great event, that we hope you all had chance to reflect upon your lost loved ones. Thank you to all who attended.
Many thanks to 2 Dog Imaging, we have a video of the event for those that were unable to be with us:
You can view photos of the service, and how the fort looked, upon the Remembrance Service event page.

Remembrance Evening
Gary Baines posted in Diary Dates on October 18, 2012 at 11:17 pm

On the evening of the 11th November we are holding our community remembrance event.
This is a chance for the community to remember anyone they have lost, not just those in the armed forces but for people that have lost a battle with illness or that have left us.
Starting at 6pm we invite you to come along for a service and light a candle for your loved one. Candles and jam jars will be available for a small donation on the night and can be reserved by emailing info@shorehamfort.co.uk with the quantity you require.
Once all the candles are lit we will light our beacon fire Basket.
Hotdogs, soup and hot and cold drinks will be available from food for fort.
All monies donated will go towards a memorial bench to have at the fort
Please come along, to what was a very moving event last year and remember those that we have lost, together
