Heritage Crime Surgeries

Heritage Crime is on the up in Sussex and Shoreham Fort has had more than its fair share this year.

One positive to come out of all the negative is the excellent partnership we now have with Daryl Holter, Sussex Police Heritage Crime Lead.

Since September Daryl has joined us for monthly West Sussex Heritage Crime Surgeries, which he runs from the Nissen hut.

The next two dates are 9th November 11:00 ~ 15:00 and 7th December 11:00 ~ 15:00 with a presentation at 12:00 and 14:00.

Please do come along and meet Daryl and watch the presentation, it really is an eye opening about the varied ways in with our heritage is being destroyed.

Tea-light Remembrance Event

This year the site is open from 17:00 with Food for Fort being open for hot and cold refreshments.

The event will commence with Gary Baines welcoming everyone. Father Terry will then lead the proceedings and invite everyone to light a tea-light, which we provide) in remembrance of a lost loved one.

After all the tea-lights are lit we will have 2 minutes silence followed by the lighting of our Jubilee Beacon (wind direction permitting)>

This event is perfect for that time of personal reflection
